Yeah for some reason Tokion did a lil summer tshirt photoshoot for their website/blog. I'm not sure why either. I'm gonna assume Uniqlo paid for it cos their shirts are all up in it, as well as Tonite, Built By Wendy, and Lead Derby. Regardless there's no such thing as lousy press, plus the pics are kind of pleasant in a real harmless, breezy fashion. So enjoy some summer jams while gazing at the youthful blissful tshirt scene.

TODD IN 2H

SO Yeah as you may have noticed from the above photos my neighbor surfer dude Todd in 2H is kind of a big deal. I've spent so many sleepless nights contemplating how such a nice dude has so many celebrity bigshot friends. Finally it hit me. He's a stalker! Or maybe a really successful grifter. No silly he's a NYC artist! When I first was introduced I was told he's the guy who paints bands live while they're performing....Dinosaur Jr and Guided By Voices to name a few. Young Hip bands too I just don't remember which ones. He told me he was hired by Nylon to paint the Misshapes DJ at art basel the other year and that afterwards they awkwardly asked him if they could have the painting. His answer was like yeah if you give me 20 grand.

He's having a big party on Tuesday at Santa's. I get to DJ with that 70s show guy and I promised Todd I wouldn't be snarky to him. I swear guys I'll be on my best behavior.

got a full page in the current issue of NYLON (the kills are on the cover----man they are so cool smoking cigarettes on stage and wearing all black and leather. how original) . Its some article on American fashion in England? or English fashion interpreted by americans? I dunno man to be honest I got bored 2 paragraphs into the silly thing. All I know is that UK shops and showrooms have always been snooty to us so sorry guys aint gonna see WOWCH on that side of the pond anytime soon. Regardless I think we all can agree that the pic is topnotch one of the best I've ever seen any wowch in. word.



Yeah I guess not many people know my animosity for most museums and galleries in general.
But man the new $64 million NEW MUSEUM on Bowery is right by my JMZ stop so I have the displeasure of having to 'Logan's Run' by it every other day of the week. The future is soooo awesome......and clean! Anyway the worst part is that its set up right next to a couple of homeless shelters so I get the unfortunate juxtopostion of tourists and art students waiting in line to buy crap from the gift shop a few yards away from haggard street people waiting in line for a meal and shelter. UP YOURS New Museum. Ya looked more the part when you were on Broadway next to Victoria Secret.

Death to Wowch

Earlier this year we got solicited to participate in a 'DEATH' themed group art show. FYI-- Wowch is always more than happy to contribute any high school stoner misfit imagery for any occasions. The curator was nice enough to give us 4 or 5 months notice and of course I waited til the last week to do it. What the curator forgot to do was provide us with any invitations or information about the opening. WHOOPS. So yeah I really can't tell you a gosh darn thing on how it went. Wasn't there. I have no idea what other stuff was in the show or even where it was. No biggie. I recall life being kinda hectic at the time anyway.

Atleast I know one person liked it , cos when I picked the piece up from the currator a few months later she had it hanging above her faux-fireplace. Did I mention its 30" x 40" and framed? pretty cool....... It's currently hanging above our garbage can and is for sale.

Hey Buddies. ENON is on tour for the next year. If you're cool enough to go see them u can purchase a Wowch designed shirt that might look like this. A few things about Enon....

- John used to be in a rad band from Ohio called Brainiac. As a teen I had a tumultuous relationship with their music. I loved the records, but every time I went to see them I always got pissed off. I confronted John on this recently, pointing out the fact that he once kicked a row of empty beer bottles on the front of the stage into the crowd, directly into my knees. His defense was that the bar (Staches) was lousy at busing empties and that the stage was too high. Gotta love that response. Here's a jam from their 2nd album.

- Toko used to be in a buncha bands, most notably BLONDE REDHEAD. She has funny stories about how awkward it was touring with them. They kinda frowned upon her drinking. They scolded her for taking showers after 'bedtime.' I think she mentioned they even had to go to a band psychiatrist, although I could be making that one up. Anyway when she aint making music, she's the funnest bartender around over at that bar Enids in Williamsburg. Don't ask me which came first...Enids or Enon. My brain can't handle it. This track is my favourite from their new album....

OKEE DOKEE. I had to do it. The Bargain Bazaar closed down. Friedman's Active-wear moved to Brooklyn. My whole world has been turned upside down !!!!
What better way to ground myself than to start BLOGGIN again. Oh water cooler how I've missed you!

Ok gonna spill my guts here. This blog aint gonna be just a showcase for my complaining skills. My main goal heres is an attempt at showcasing all the rad graphic design and art work WOWCH does that goes under the radar. Believe it or not we aren't always the best at self-promoting our various creative endeavors beyond our goofy shirts. (on a side note I'm not sure how or why the font color and size just changed up on me, but cool trick, blogspot).

CASE IN POINT----that crazy face melting balloon pic above. Earlier this year WOWCH was commissioned by that hottt band The Crystal Castle's label to do the cover art work for their album and based on their input thats what we submitted. For whatever reason they didn't like it (lets just assume its cos they're Canadian), and no offense was taken. Besides I've yet to see any of their music in actual cd/lp format. Anyway not too long after we finished it, a totally cool Japanese art 'zine called ROCKET asked us to contribute some work, so we sent them a bunch of images including Mr Balloonface up there. As you can see below, Mr. Balloonface turned into Mr. Coverboy! Everything turns up WOWCHY!!!!
